Awards
Due to the extraordinary work done by CPM/GSU/Pune unit in land acquisition and NI works at Hadapsar, including the completion of the 12m-wide FOB with skywalk in adverse climatic conditions, a suitable award of Rs. 40,000/- was proposed for CPM/GSU by CAO/C/RSP and approved by GM/HQ/CR.

Recognition & Appreciation
Shri Sanjay Lawhatre, Chief Project Manager, has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Railway Board for efficient, proactive, and timely completion of all station entries in the SDMS. This recognition reflects his meticulous approach, commitment to data accuracy, and significant contribution to improving system efficiency.

ACHIEVEMENT
The Gati Shakti Unit (GSU), Pune has demonstrated exceptional execution, coordination, and innovation in advancing critical infrastructure works across the Pune Division. Key accomplishments include:
1. Landmark Achievement in Land Acquisition – Hadapsar
GSU Pune successfully completed the acquisition of all 10 land parcels admeasuring 4716.36 sq.m., overcoming objections and site challenges, and ensured timely removal of encroachments.
2. Efficient Execution of Non-Interlocking (NI) Works and FOB – Hadapsar
NI works were executed from 11.07.2025 to 20.07.2025. GSU launched 11 girders of 32.5 m length for a 12 m-wide FOB within the NI block itself, eliminating the need for additional traffic blocks and completing the entire FOB with ramps before 10.10.2025.
3. Accelerated Skywalk Construction – Hadapsar
A 77 m skywalk with four spans of L- shape was completed in record time of just three months ,despite space and traffic constraints, including complex OHE portal modifications to accommodate the foundations.
4. Successful Completion and Inauguration of ABSS Stations
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), redevelopment works at Lonand, Kedgaon, and Phaltan stations were completed. Lonand and Kedgaon stations were inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 22.05.2025.
5. Development of New Web Portal – GSU Pune
An in-house web portal (www.cpmgsupune.in) was developed to monitor the progress of all works assigned to GSU Pune, enabling transparent and real-time project tracking for all stakeholders.
6. Gati Shakti Unit (GSU), Pune was the first in Indian Railways to complete all station entries in the new SDMS portal.

The following key works have been successfully executed at Hadapsar Railway Station, significantly enhancing the station’s aesthetics, passenger amenities, sustainability, and overall functional efficiency.
1️⃣ Improvement of Station Building Elevation (Thematic Design)
The elevation theme of Hadapsar Railway Station celebrates Pune’s cultural, historical, and social identity through a distinctive architectural expression.
- Iconic Pune monuments and visuals depicting important local events, rituals, and festivals are artistically showcased.
- CNC-cut aluminium perforated metal panels with circles of varying diameters create detailed image patterns forming a dynamic mosaic.
- These perforated panels provide shading, ventilation, and a rich play of light and shadow throughout the day.
- Panels are mounted within a framed system of HPL sheets integrated with luminous elements, enhancing night-time visibility.
- The design blends modern materials with cultural symbolism, transforming the station into a symbolic gateway to Pune.

2️⃣ Portico Aesthetic Enhancement
- Installation of 12 mm thick toughened glass for improved aesthetics.
- Protective safety film provided to prevent falling hazards in case of breakage.
- Fire-proof HPL panels installed to control fire spread and enhance safety.
3️⃣ Designer Granite Flooring in Portico
- Designer granite flooring laid using water-jet cutting technology.
- Enhances visual appeal while ensuring high durability and long service life.
4️⃣ Rainwater Harvesting System
- Station roof connected to a rainwater harvesting system.
- Promotes sustainable groundwater recharge and water conservation.
5️⃣ Installation of Clock at Skywalk
- A prominently visible 10 ft diameter clock installed at the skywalk.
- Improves passenger convenience and station aesthetics.
6️⃣ Improved Aesthetics of ACs in VIP Waiting Room
- Air-conditioning units installed with concealed conduits for a neat appearance.
- Condensate water lines connected to the adjoining washroom drainage system.
7️⃣ HPL Compound Wall at Platform–1 with Advertising Space
- Conventional MS fencing replaced with an HPL compound wall.
- Improves aesthetics and blocks visibility of nearby huts.
- Enables dedicated commercial advertising space for revenue generation.
8️⃣ Road Widening & Improved Circulation Area
- Narrow access road widened to improve traffic flow and vehicle movement.
- Dedicated parking space developed for passenger convenience.
- 24 railway quarters (RB1–23 nos. & RB2–01 no.) demolished to create adequate circulation and parking space.
- Alternative accommodation provided at Loni for displaced occupants.
- Vacuum Dewatered Concrete (VDC) used for roads and circulation areas.
- Underground Hume pipes provided at intervals for future utility crossings.
- Staircase, lift, and escalators planned within the parking area for safe access to the skywalk, avoiding road crossings.
- A common roof provided for staircase, lift, and escalators to utilize natural light and ventilation.
9️⃣ Waterproofing Treatment to Granite Surfaces
- Waterproofing chemicals and adhesives applied to granite and mortar surfaces.
- Prevents discoloration, water absorption, and reduces long-term maintenance.
🔟 Development of Landscaping Areas
- Green landscaped zones developed within station premises.
- Enhances environmental quality and provides a pleasant visual experience.
